Video montage nod to Garden Competition

Garden Comp

Local green thumbs have the opportunity to compete in a different way this year, with Council re-imagining its much-loved Garden Competition.

While the popular competition won't go ahead in its usual format due to COVID-19, Council will be creating a special montage video on social media this week, where residents can compare their gardens with previous winners and entrants.

Despite the Garden Competition not being held this year, residents now have some extra time to prepare for next year's Garden Competition while watching the video.

Residents can also sign up to Council's online sustainability workshops to help grow their knowledge and make some subtle changes that will help our environment.

The online sustainability workshops to assist those looking at options for their gardens, include:

  • The five biggest veggie gardening mistakes to avoid on Saturday 6 November, 10-11.30am. This webinar will set you on the right track to avoid common problems and mistakes that many people make; and
  • Habitat Gardening on Saturday 13 November, 10-11.30am. Residents can learn how to design their garden to attract local wildlife and select plants that will suit any garden, from shady spots to containers.
