Anger and frustration are mounting across Australia as people say they are growing tired of never-ending lockdowns that protesters argue have so far failed to curb surging Covid cases.
NSW Police said they responded to 69 protests across the state today, more than a third of which were held in the state's north as part of coordinated demonstrations against lockdown measures.
Thousands also turned up at a similar event in Sydney, where almost 50 arrests were made despite NSW Police warning against it.
NSW Police announced earlier forces would be deployed to disrupt people’s travel to potential protest locations and to fine, arrest and charge those who gather.
