Visit restrictions eased

In line with easing COVID-19 restrictions in Queensland, Queensland Corrective Services has made changes to prison visits, effective this week.

Prisoners will now be allowed up to three visitors for a one hour visit each week.

Children must be accompanied by at least one adult.

Additionally, the latest advice from Queensland Health means that prisoners can now have physical contact with their children.

All prisons are implementing these changes this week.

Visitors should check with the prison as to what day the changes are being adopted. Bookings should be made with the prison directly, as normal.

Virtual visits are also still available, with a limit of three visitors for half an hour a week.
