With the cooler months approaching, East Gippsland Shire Council-managed Visitor Information Centres are now operating on winter hours.
Changes to Visitor Information Centre accreditation rules last year mean Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance centres can alter their opening hours to best suit times of peak demand.
Before the changes, centres needed to be open 9 am to 5 pm each day except Christmas Day and Good Friday.
Council has chosen to reduce opening hours over winter and run extra services over busy periods, including the pop-up visitor bus which was well received over summer.
Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance Visitor Information Centres opening hours are 10am to 4pm until late September.
