The Mullumbimby Chamber of Commerce, with support from Council, is inviting community members, local businesses and volunteers to take part in a Mullumbimby Main Street Clean-Up from 8am to 10am on Sunday 25 October 2026.
Volunteers, businesses and community groups will work together to clean the length of Burringbar Street, helping to make Mullumbimby's town centre cleaner and more welcoming.
The clean-up will focus on removing litter, tidying community noticeboards and refreshing designated poster display areas to encourage a more centralised approach to community advertising. This will help reduce the placement of posters on trees, poles and shopfronts throughout the town centre.
"Small actions can make a big difference. By tidying noticeboards and using designated poster areas, we can create a cleaner, more organised town centre that highlights local events and celebrates our vibrant community," Anika Brown, Council's Litter Prevention Officer, said.
The event will also help prepare Burringbar Street for a community beautification initiative by Shearwater students, who will be repainting selected poles along the street.
To thank volunteers for their efforts, the Mullumbimby Chamber of Commerce will provide a free egg and bacon roll at the end of the clean-up.
