Want To Help Recognise Our Community's Best?

Expressions of Interest are now open for community members to join the Selection Panel for the Mornington Peninsula's annual community awards.

Each year, our community comes together to recognise the people and events that make a real difference across the Peninsula, and we're now inviting locals to help shape who is celebrated.

From volunteers and community leaders to quiet achievers working behind the scenes, these awards are all about celebrating the people who show up for others. And we want the panel choosing them to reflect our community too.

Panel members will bring a mix of perspectives, experience and community insight, helping ensure the awards reflect the breadth of people and stories across the Peninsula.

You don't need to be an expert - just someone who's thoughtful, fair and interested in being part of the process.

As a panel member, you will:

  • Help review nominations from across the Peninsula for Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year.
  • Be part of selecting the people and events we celebrate
  • Play a role in recognising the stories that matter to our community

Acting Mayor Paul Pingiaro said the awards are one of the most meaningful ways we celebrate our community each year.

"We all know someone who goes above and beyond - this is about making sure those people are seen and recognised."

"Being part of the Selection Panel is a chance to help shine a light on the people who make our community what it is."

Expressions of Interest are currently open and close on 10 June 2026.
