Wanted man arrested after foot pursuits at Dubbo

A man wanted for multiple offences has been arrested and charged following a foot pursuit in the state's Orana Region.

About 9.30am Saturday (17 August 2019), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District observed the man, aged 34, walking on Lunar Avenue at Dubbo.

The man, wanted for taking and driving a stolen vehicle and traffic offences, ran from police through several yards before being detained.

It is alleged he broke free and ran from police who located and arrested the man after a struggle at a Braun Avenue address.

A search of the residence allegedly uncovered housebreaking implements and a quantity of crystal substance.

The man was arrested and taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for precautionary measures, before being released into police custody.

He was charged with resist police (x2), escape police custody, possess housebreaking implements, take and drive conveyance without consent, drive recklessly, use offensive weapon to avoid apprehension, breach of bail and traffic offences.

The man was bail refused to appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Monday 19 August 2019).
