Wanted man arrested in Condoblin

A man wanted by police has been arrested after allegedly threatening to harm a number of people with improvised explosive devices in the state’s Central West, NSW Police say.

Police from Lachlan Local Area Command have been searching for a 25-year-old man for the past two weeks in relation to an outstanding warrant. They also wanted to speak with him in relation to a number of break and enters, an assault and numerous other offences.

Yesterday morning today, police were told the man attended a family function at Condoblin where he allegedly became involved in an argument before making threats to harm patrons with improvised explosive devices.

Yesterday afternoon, police attended an address in Condoblin and located the man under a mattress.

He was arrested and taken to Condoblin Police Station where he was charged with the outstanding warrant, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, take and drive conveyance, threaten to destroy or damage another’s property, destroy or damage property, stalk/intimidate, break enter and steal, enter inclosed land, break and enter with intent, affray and demand property with menaces with intent to steal.

He was refused bail to appear at Forbes Local Court tomorrow.

Inquiries by police are continuing. The incident was not terrorism related.
