Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate Aaron Elias.
A warrant has been issued for the 26-year-old man's arrest in relation to theft of a motor vehicle and theft of petrol.
Elias is approximately 180cm tall with a medium build and short black hair.
He is known to frequent the Melbourne CBD, Richmond, Bundoora and Preston areas.
Investigators have released an image of Elias in the hope someone may have information on his current whereabouts.
