Weapons and stolen vehicles at Victoria Point, QLD

Detectives from Cleveland and Wynnum Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following the location of stolen vehicles and weapons at Victoria Point yesterday (December 21), Queensland Police say.

At about 4pm, police executed a search warrant at a property on Bunker Road where it is alleged four stolen trailers were located valued at over $300,000 along with a stolen Mack truck.

It is further alleged that a search of shipping containers situated on the property uncovered two loaded semi-automatic pistols, three revolvers, an air rifle and a quantity of ammunition.

Police located and arrested a 25-year-old Mount Ommaney man at the scene who was charged with five counts of unlawful possession of a motor vehicle and one count each of unlawful possession of category H weapons, unlawful possession of weapons and unlawful possession of explosives.

The man is due to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court today.
