Weapons, cash and prescription medication found in traffic stop, SA

A man was arrested after a traffic stop in the city earlier yesterday afternoon, according to SA Police.

About 1.10pm on Tuesday 27 September, a patrol pulled over a vehicle in Pulteney Street, Adelaide.

A search of the car allegedly uncovered knuckle-dusters, two knives and about $8000 in cash. The vehicle was seized by police for further forensic examination.

Police checks revealed the driver, a 29-year-old man from Hyde Park, holds a current learner's permit, however, he was not able to produce his licence, had no L-plates displayed and did not have a supervising driver.

The man was arrested and charged with three counts of possess prohibited weapons, possess prescription medication without a prescription and driving offences.

He also had an outstanding warrant.

Investigators then searched a Hyde Park address linked to the man, and allegedly found 30 grams of cocaine and scales.

The arrested man was further charged with trafficking in a controlled drug. Investigations are ongoing.

He will be refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
