Wearing masks will be mandatory from today (Tuesday, March 30) at all of Toowoomba Regional Council’s public facilities.
Toowoomba Region Mayor Paul Antonio said the latest Queensland Health directive would apply to Council staff and members of the public who were working in, or visiting, any TRC public facility.
Mayor Antonio said masks would be needed at all Toowoomba Region service centres, libraries, swimming pools, fitness and recreation centres, art galleries, community facilities, cultural centres, museums, Visitor Information Centres, the Toowoomba Animal Management Centre, waste facilities and meeting rooms.
“Our primary goal is to ensure the health and safety of all residents and our staff at every one of our public facilities, plus all Council work areas,” Mayor Antonio said.
“All of Council’s public sites will continue to display the mandatory QR codes for contact tracing purposes, if required.
“It is important for residents to follow the established health and safety guidelines that have served us well to date.
