Wellington Shire Planning Department wins CSV award

Wellington Shire Council's Planning Department has beaten a strong field to win an Association of Consulting Surveyors Victoria (CSV) Excellence Award.

Wellington Shire Council was named winner of the Rural Municipalities category at a ceremony held at Caulfield Racecourse on Friday 12 March, hosted by CSV President Leo Bateman.

CSV represents over 90 per cent of land-surveying businesses throughout Victoria. Licensed surveyors are legally responsible for all subdivisions in the state and are the first on site at most building projects.

The CSV noted that 87 per cent of metropolitan and 90 per cent of rated regional municipalities were rated good or higher - the best results reported in 23 years of the awards.

Wellington Shire Council's Planning Department was recognised as best in its category for its efficiency, response time, understanding of the Subdivision Act and level of cooperation.

"Wellington Shire Council's Planning Department plays a key role in good community development, so I'm pleased to see their excellent service recognised by the CSV," Wellington Shire Council Mayor Garry Stephens said.
