In response to the latest COVID-19 restrictions, West Gippsland Arts Centre's July to December program was launched online on Wednesday night.

A celebratory members night at the Arts Centre was originally planned, so rather than cancelling the event, the Arts Centre team quickly developed a video hosted by Manager of Arts, Culture and Events Rob Robson.

The video featured highlights of each of the upcoming shows and was accompanied by a live chat for members to ask questions and chat with each other.

The season launch follows a successful start to 2021 for the Arts Centre, with high attendance figures despite COVID-19 capacity restrictions.

The July to December program features a diversity of performances, including (but not limited to):

  • Love Song Dedications (without Richard Mercer) - Tuesday 6 July
  • Vivaldi's Four Seasons performed by Melbourne Chamber Orchestra – Friday 23 July
  • A Midsummer Night's Dream - Tuesday 24 August
  • Animal Farm - Tuesday 31 August
  • Ochres performed by Bangarra Dance Theatre, Wednesday 8 October

Following the Victoria Government's announcement regarding changes to COVID-19 restrictions in regional Victoria, the Arts Centre team is working through a revised Covid Safe plan and liaising with the touring and local artists.

Any patrons who have tickets booked for shows for the period affected by the announcement, will be contacted by the Booking Office team with details about those performances.
