A man has been arrested after breaking into a service station in Port Adelaide early this morning.
At 3 am Wednesday 23 December, patrols responded to a service station on Endeavour Drive following reports of a break-in. It will be alleged that a suspect broke in through the front doors of the premises and stole confectionary and mobile phones before fleeing on foot.
Police Dog Arlo and his handler attended and searched the area, locating a backpack in a nearby park that contained the stolen items.
Following further investigations, officers attended a home in Port Adelaide at about 4.30 am. During a search of the property, the suspect was located hiding in a cupboard and subsequently arrested.
The 39-year-old from Port Adelaide was charged with serious criminal trespass and refused police bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court later today, 24 December.
