Willoughby City Council has embraced an innovative new solution to make reserving and collecting library items simpler.

The Naremburn Book Locker is one of the first of its kind in Sydney, and has been installed in the foyer of Naremburn Community Centre, adjacent to the Library at 7 Central Street.

This unique self-service facility complements existing branch libraries and is a secure and convenient method for busy residents to borrow library items at a time that best suits them.

Willoughby Mayor Tanya Taylor believes this innovative solution will be welcomed by busy book lovers.

"Initiatives like our Book Locker service make it easier and more convenient to access Council library services.

"This is a simple, efficient and flexible way of picking up a book of choice at a time that best suits our community."

Booking a reservation is simple:

  1. Visit the Chatswood Library website or download the app
  2. Select the items you want to borrow
  3. Log in with your Willoughby Library account
  4. Set Naremburn Book Locker as the pick-up location
  5. Submit your reservation

Members seeking to borrow picture books can fill out a form to choose up to 10 picture books to collect at the book locker.

Access to the book locker is available Monday to Friday 7:30am - 5pm.
