Aspiring and professional photographers alike are invited to showcase their skills in The Hills Shire Council's 2026 Waste and Recycling Calendar Photo Competition.
The competition seeks original photographs that capture the unique beauty and spirit of The Hills.
Winning entries will be featured in 2026 Waste and Recycling Calendar, which is distributed to homes across the region.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Bryne encouraged residents to get involved and share their special places with the rest of the community.
"I believe the Hills is the best place in the world, and this photo competition is a wonderful opportunity to draw attention to the area's natural beauty and some of its incredible scenery," Mayor Bryne said.
"A group of judges will evaluate and choose 13 images to feature in the annual calendar—one for each month and another will be showcased on the front cover.
"The judges are looking for captivating photos which reflect the character and essence of The Hills."
A $100 Coles/Myer gift card will be awarded to the front cover winner, and 12 x $50 Coles/Myer gift cards will be awarded to the monthly feature photograph winners — one for each month.
Applicants must reside within The Hills LGA and can only submit images taken in the Shire within the last two years. The images can feature natural or built environments but must not include people or faces.
The competition closes 11:59pm on Monday, 30 June.
