Witness appeal following Albion hit-run

Police from Brimbank Highway Patrol are appealing for information following a hit and run collision in Albion last night, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told two teenage girls were crossing at a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Anderson Road and Forrest Street about 8.30pm when they were struck by a vehicle making a right hand turn.

The vehicle, described as being a white van or SUV and possibly a Toyota, stopped briefly approximately 50 metres west of Anderson Road on Forrest Street, before driving off without attempting to render assistance.

A 14-year-old Altona Meadows girl was taken hospital and received emergency dental surgery after losing several teeth.

A 15-year-old Newport girl was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators are appealing to residents and businesses in the area that have CCTV to check the footage for similar looking vehicle around the time of the collision.
