Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault on a Parkville Tram on Sunday, 29 January, Victoria Police say.
The assault occurred at 10.20am on a route 19 tram that was travelling city bound on Royal Parade.
The tram stopped for passengers to board at stop 12 outside Trinity College and then an assault occurred between a man from a vehicle and a male commuter boarding the tram.
A large number of commuters witnessed the incident and some intervened.
Witnesses that have not already spoken to police are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
