Witness appeal following charity theft in Airport West

Police have released CCTV footage as they continue to investigate the theft of a charity money tin in September, Victoria Police say.

It’s believed a man entered a gaming venue on Matthews Avenue, Airport West, just before 9am on 18 September.

Investigators understand that once the man was inside he approached the pig-shaped tin, took cutters from his pocket and detached the pig tin from the chain holding it to the counter before exiting the building through a rear exit.

Police have released CCTV of a man they believe may be able to assist in their investigation.

The man is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, aged between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 160cm tall with a medium build, dark hair and tattoos on both forearms.

He was wearing black runners with white soles, grey pants, a black hooded jumper with a logo and inner red hood and a black cap at the time.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
