Witness appeal following Epsom thefts and arson

Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man allegedly stole two vehicles, power tools and groceries in Epsom last week, Victoria Police say.

A car was allegedly seen driving erratically in the Epsom area on Sunday 20 November about 5am with the car later being dumped and set alight.

It is alleged the same driver then stole a utility from Averys Road, Eaglehawk and drove it to an Epsom shopping centre where he allegedly stole a quantity of groceries.

Detectives have charged a 30-year-old man with two counts of theft of motor vehicle, arson, theft, theft from motor vehicle, careless driving, drive in a manner dangerous, breach bail conditions and commit an indictable offence whilst on bail.

The Epsom man has been remanded in custody and will appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on 16 December.
