Witness appeal following Lalor erratic driving

Police are appealing for witnesses following alleged erratic driving in Lalor on Wednesday 16 January, Victoria Police say.

Investigators believe two vehicles were travelling at a fast speed on Dalton Road when they were detected by police about 3.20am.

It is believed the vehicles continued along Dalton Road and allegedly entered the intersection of The Boulevard on a red traffic light.

At this time, two other vehicles were stationary at the lights and police believe they would have seen the cars pass them.

One of the vehicles, a white VW Golf hatchback, was stopped by police a short distance later on the Metropolitan Ring Road.

The driver of the white VW, a 20-year-old Greenvale man, was arrested the following day and is expected to be charged on summons with traffic-related offences.

Police are hoping to identify the driver of the dark-coloured sedan and hope that anyone who witnessed the driving or who has dash cam footage or any information to contact Crime Stoppers.
