Witness appeal following Thomastown collision

Police are investigating after a car struck a pedestrian in Thomastown yesterday (15 June), Victoria Police say.

It is believed the pedestrian, a 67-year-old woman, was walking south along High Street when she attempted to cross Highlands Road about 5pm.

The woman was knocked over by a silver Toyota Camry turning right from High Street onto Highlands Road.

The female driver of the Toyota sedan stopped at the scene of the collision to render assistance to the pedestrian.

However, the driver left the scene without leaving her details with the pedestrian.

A witness then called Triple Zero and emergency services attended shortly after.

The woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are now appealing for the driver, or anyone who witnessed the collision, to come forward.

Anyone with information regarding the collision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
