Witness appeal for Coburg North rob

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Coburg North on 13 November, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a man was standing at a bus stop on Boyne Street, when approached by a male who asked for a cigarette about 9.45am.

The victim was pushed by the offender who attempted to snatch his mobile phone.

The phone was smashed during a short scuffle between the pair.

The offender was last seen walking north on Ronald Street.

He is described as Caucasian, small muscular build, dark hair, short scruffy facial hair and was wearing a dark grey/black singlet top.

Police would like to speak to a woman who may have seen this man walking down Ronald Street just after the incident.

They are also appealing to anyone with information or any other witnesses that may have been in the area at the time.
