Witnesses sought after pedestrian seriously injured in Merrylands

Metropolitan Crash Investigators are appealing for public assistance after a woman was hit by a car at Merrylands in June.

About 5.35pm on Friday 16 June 2017, an 83-year-old woman was crossing the road when she was struck by a Hyundai Getz at the intersection of Merrylands Road and Ridge Street, Merrylands.

She was taken to Westmead Hospital where she remains in a serious condition, NSW Police say.

The driver, a 76-year-old man was uninjured.


Investigations into the incident are continuing and officers would like to speak to any person who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police.

In particular, officers would like to speak to the male driver of a silver/grey Nissan Navara utility who stopped to assist but left prior to speaking to police.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
