Witnesses sought after pedestrians injured at Pyrmont, NSW

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two men were seriously injured when hit by a car at Pyrmont yesterday, NSW Police say.

It was shortly after 5pm today, emergency services were called to Murray Street, Pyrmont, when a Nissan Micra hatchback left the road and hit two pedestrians.

A 29-year-old man, from Gordon, was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital suffering multiple fractures as well as head and internal injuries. Police have been told he remains in a critical condition after undergoing surgery.

A second man, also aged 29, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he is being treated for serious leg injuries.

A 71-year-old woman, from Maroubra, who was driving the vehicle, was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where she was being treated for a chest injury as well as undergoing mandatory testing.

Officers attached to the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are conducting the inquiry and are appealing for witnesses to contact Crime Stopers.
