Wodonga Little Athletes benefit from working with other centres

Over 150 members from across the region enjoy the many benefits of being involved with little athletics each week at Wodonga Little Athletics Centre.

Returning on the 18th January 2020, Wodonga Little Athletics has reduced its 2019-2020 season fees so families new to the area or those with children who are looking to improve

their fundamental movement skills of running, jumping and throwing can join in and become a part of the Wodonga family.

Athletics provides an inclusive sporting opportunity to everyone.

Wodonga Athletes return to the track after a very successful state relay carnival in December.

After realising he had a shortfall of members for certain relay teams, Wodonga Vice-President Ryan McMahon put out the call to all Northern Country Region centres to

help form teams for the regional carnival in November.

Seven centres took the opportunity to form teams and many of those were successful in their campaign to qualify for the state championships.

A newly formed U13 team of two girls from Wodonga Little Athletics Centre, Olivia Strauss and Hannah McMahon and two girls from Yarrawonga-Mulwala Little Athletics Centre, Coco

Vodusek and Ella Skehan came home with a bronze medal in the 4 x 100m race.

Olivia and Hannah were excited to medal for the second year in a row after placing second with their team in 2018.

In a tale of triumph the girls had not run together prior to their first race at the region carnival in November.

Ryan stated “I am looking forward to the remainder of this season so we can build on what has been started and get more athletes competing in the region”.

All registrations can be completed online at https://www.lavic.com.au/Get-Involved

Families impacted by the current bushfires are invited to contact the centre to discuss options for your athletes.
