Woman arrested after pursuit and crash, NSW

A woman has been arrested after a pursuit and crash in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

About 2.15am tomorrow, a 26-year-old woman entered a Hyundai i30 on Weston Street, Panania, and drove away in the vehicle.

Police attempted to stop the pull the vehicle over but it failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle travelled on River Road at high speed, before failing to negotiate a left hand turn on to the M5 at Revesby, crashing into a barrier.

The woman, allegedly a disqualified driver, was arrested at the scene. She was uninjured but has been taken to Liverpool Hospital for observation.

Charges are expected when she is released from hospital.
