Woman arrested after stolen car crashes at Underdale, SA

A woman has been arrested after the stolen car she was driving crashed into a stobie pole at Underdale this morning, according to SA Police.

Police attempted to stop a Mitsubishi sedan on Port Road at Allenby Gardens about 5.50am on Sunday 13 November after checks revealed that the car was stolen. The driver refused to stop and the stolen car was pursued briefly along Grange Road and South Road before it was terminated for safety reasons.

The car was reportedly stolen and involved in a petrol drive off from a service station on Port Rd at Welland just after 4.30am this morning.

About 6am police received a call from a member of the public advising that a Mitsubishi sedan had collided with a stobie pole on the corner of Holbrooks Road and Armour Avenue at Underdale.

When patrols arrived, the driver had run off but they were soon flagged down by a local resident who advised that he had woken up to find a woman inside his house. Police attended at the house and subsequently arrested the woman.

The woman is being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being interviewed by police.
