Woman arrested following glassing in Redfern

Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted at an inner Sydney train station this morning, NSW Police say.

About 12.45am tomorrow, emergency services were called to Redfern railway station, following reports of a brawl.

Officers from Redfern Local Area Command attended and with the use of OC spray separated two women.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended and treated a 27-year-old woman for injuries to her head before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Initial inquiries suggest the woman had been struck with a glass bottle.

A 20-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Redfern Police Station.

She was later released pending further investigations.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
