Woman Arrested for Knife Threat in Lake Haven

A woman has been arrested after allegedly threatening members of the public in an unprovoked incident on the state's Central Coast today.

About 5pm (Monday 16 February 2026), officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District were called to a shopping centre on Goobarabah Avenue, Lake Haven, following reports that a woman was holding a knife and threatening members of the public.

On arrival, police were told the woman was allegedly waving the knife at people and threatening to stab them before she was disarmed and restrained members of the community.

A 22-year-old man sustained an injury to his finger during the incident.

There were no other reports of injuries.

The 39-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Wyong Hospital for assessment.
