Woman arrested over drug trafficking, SA

A woman has been charged with serious drug offences following on from a major joint investigation into drug trafficking, according to SA Police.

Detectives from Serious and Organised Crime Branch last night arrested a 39-year-old North Haven woman and charged her with taking part in the sale or supply of a controlled drug (cannabis).

She was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 14 July.

Last night's arrest was the result of follow-up inquiries from a major national investigation.

On 26 May, SA Police reported the successful resolution of a 12-month joint investigation into a large organised crime syndicate was involved in the commercial distribution of cannabis from South Australia into Queensland and New South Wales via the mail stream.

During the operation, SA Police searched 17 properties across Adelaide, seizing $176,815 cash, eight cars, two motorcycles, 16 kg of cannabis, 46 plants and a range of other illicit substances. In South Australia, 11 people were arrested and one reported.
