Woman assault on walking path, NSW

Police are appealing for information after a woman was assault on a walking path at Buff Point yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 3:20pm, today, a woman was walking along the footpath at the Edgewater Park Reserve.

As she was walking, she turned around and noticed a man walking closely behind her. The woman continued on the path, until the man grabbed her from behind and attempted to drag her into bushland.

The woman struggle against the man and managed to break free. She ran off and contacted police.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command have commenced an investigation into the matter and are appealing with anyone with information to come forward.

As a part of their inquiries, police are wanting to speak with a man who may be able to assist with the investigation.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, 168cms tall, medium build, late teens, fair complexion, with a puffy face and blonde hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black and grey board shorts, skate shoes and a black cap.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
