Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted and robbed in West Tamworth yesterday, NSW Police say.
About 9.40pm yesterday, a 29-year-old woman was approached on King Street by an unknown man and woman.
The unknown woman has grabbed the woman’s mobile phone and walked off. The victim chased the woman and a scuffle took place.
The man then punched and kicked the woman before they were last seen running south along King Street.
The woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for a head injury and was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
Officers from Oxley Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations.
Police would like to speak to a man and a woman, who may be able to assist police with inquiries.
The man is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, approximately 183cm tall, with long hair. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt.
The woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with long blonde hair.
She was last seen wearing a bikini /crop top and shorts.
As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or anyone with information.
