Woman charged after assault in Bankstown

A woman has been charged following an alleged assault at Bankstown yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 2pm yesterday, a 26-year-old woman working for a news organisation was allegedly assaulted outside a court house on the corner of Chapel Road and The Mall after a camera was pushed into her face.

The injured woman sustained a cut to her right eyebrow.

Police from Bankstown Local Area Command commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, about 12.15pm today, a 31-year-old woman attended Bankstown Police Station where she was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 14 December 2016.
