A woman has been charged after cash and tobacco were allegedly seized during a vehicle search in the state's central west region yesterday.
Officers attached to Central West Police District stopped and spoke with a woman outside a store on Clarinda Street, Parkes, about 7am yesterday (Monday 27 April 2026).
Following inquiries, police conducted a search of the woman – aged 32 – and a utility parked nearby, during which they allegedly located and seized two large cardboard boxes containing 20,000 cigarettes and approximately $54,500 in cash.
The woman was arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station, where she was charged with possess tobacco commercial quantity and less than 10x commercial quantity, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (motor vehicle).
About 2.20pm the same day, police executed a search warrant at a store on Clarinda Street, Parkes, where they allegedly located and seized approximately $24,700 in cash and several illegal tobacco products including vapes.
The woman was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Forbes Local Court on Thursday 14 May 2026.
