Woman Charged After Deadly Crescent Head Crash

A woman has been charged after a crash left one dead and two injured after a single-vehicle crash on the state's Mid North Coast earlier this month.

About 9.20pm on Friday 6 March 2026, emergency services were called to Point Polmer Road at Crescent Head after reports a vehicle had crashed into a tree.

A passenger – a 19-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died at the scene.

The driver – an 18-year-old woman – and a second passenger, a 17-year-old girl, were airlifted to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District established a crime scene and an investigation by the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) into the circumstances surrounding the crash commenced.

Yesterday (Tuesday 24 March 2026), the driver was issued a Court Attendance Notice for negligent driving (occasioning death), negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm), dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous, and dangerous driving occasion grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous.

She will appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 3 June 2026.
