Woman Charged After E-bike Crash at Lake Macquarie

A woman has been charged with alleged predatory driving and other traffic offences following a crash in Lake Macquarie yesterday afternoon.

About 5pm (Wednesday 12 November 2025), emergency services were called to Elsdon Street, Redhead, following reports of a crash.

At the scene, police were told that a woman allegedly drove her car at a boy riding an e-bike.

The 14-year-old boy jumped from the bike to avoid the impact; however, the e-bike was dragged for approximately 30 metres and extensively damaged. The boy sustained minor lacerations and bruising.

The woman allegedly drove from the scene, and police attached to Lake Macquarie Police District were notified.

Following inquiries, police attended a home in Belmont North about 9.30pm last night where they arrested a 23-year-old woman.

She was taken to Belmont Police Station and charged with five offences,

  • predatory driving,
  • cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle,
  • drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous,
  • fail to stop and assist after impact cause injury, and
  • not give particulars to injured person.

The woman was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Thursday 13 November 2025).
