Woman charged after more than $12 million worth of 1,4-Butanediol seized

Drug Task Force detectives have charged a woman after seizing more than $12 million worth of 1,4-Butanediol in Tullamarine last month., Victoria Police say

Investigators executed a search warrant at an address in the Tullamarine area about 8pm on Friday 26 August and located 6200 litres of 1,4-Butanediol which is a Schedule 11 drug of dependence and when ingested metabolises into GHB.

As a result of further investigations, a second warrant was executed at a residential premises in Brunswick East on Monday 29 August.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested and subsequently charged with traffick commercial quantity of 1,4-Butanediol.

The Brunswick East woman faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 30 August and was bailed.

She is expected to reappear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 7 September.
