Woman charged after shots fired at two people near Byron Bay, NSW

A woman has been charged after allegedly firing a rifle at two people near Byron Bay, NSW Police say.

About 3pm on Tuesday 24 April 2018, a 54-year-old woman allegedly attended a unit on Main Arm Road armed with an air rifle before firing at a 32-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man.

The woman and man fled to another unit before the older woman followed and pointed the rifle at them and a 39-year-old woman.

No one was injured as a result.

The man contacted authorities and officers from Tweed/Byron Police District commenced inquiries.

The 54-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Byron Bay Police Station where she was charged with stalk/intimidate x3, use unauthorised firearm, possess unauthorised firearm and firearm likely to injure.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Mullumbimby Local Court on Monday 28 May 2018.
