Woman Charged for Deliberately Setting Dubbo Home Ablaze

A woman will face court today charged after a home was deliberately set alight in the state's central west at the weekend.

About 4pm yesterday (Sunday 7 April 2024), emergency services were called to a home on Leavers Street, Dubbo, following reports of a house fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze, however the home was extensively damaged.

No injuries were reported.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire.

Following inquiries, a 44-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

The woman was charged with damage property by fire/exp >$15000 (DV) and was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Monday 8 April 2024).
