Detectives from State Crime Command's Financial Crimes Squad have charged a woman following an investigation into the alleged fraudulent operation of an unregistered daycare centre in Sydney's south-west.
Strike Force Lutterworth was established by State Crime Command's Financial Crimes Squad to investigate the alleged fraudulent activities of a 33-year-old woman believed to be unlawfully operating a daycare facility in Denham Court.
Detectives identified that between November 2023 and April 2024, the woman allegedly operated the service without the required legal registration or approvals, accepted additional children into care, and failing to pay rent on the property used.
As inquiries continued, detectives uncovered further alleged fraudulent conduct, including the falsification of documents relating to real estate matters and fraudulent dealings with government agencies, including the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and Services Australia (Centrelink).
Following inquiries, about 9am yesterday (Wednesday 25 February 2026), a 33-year-old woman was arrested at Parramatta Police Station.
She was charged with 12 counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception, four counts of use false document to obtain financial advantage etc, obtain a financial advantage by deception, and
knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
The woman was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 26 February 2026).
It will be alleged in court the woman committed fraud to the value of $400,000.
