Woman charged in connection with Lurnea shooting, NSW

Police investigating the shooting of a child in a home in Lurnea last week, have charged a woman, NSW Police say.

It was about 9pm on Monday 1 May 2017, when a five-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound while inside a home on Morison Drive, Lurnea.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital by his parents, where he was treated for a wound to his hip.

Following investigations, a 37-year-old woman was arrested by detectives from Liverpool Local Area Command today.

The woman, from Lurnea, has been charged with hinder investigation – serious indictable offence, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.

The woman has been granted bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Friday 26 May 2017.
