A woman will face court charged after a fatal crash in Tweed Heads earlier this year.
About 7.30am on Monday 30 June 2025, emergency services were called to Tweed Valley Way, Tumbulgum, following reports of a crash.
At the scene, officers found a hatchback and SUV had collided head-on.
The driver of the hatchback, an 85-year-old woman, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, was unable to be revived.
The driver of the SUV – a 43-year-old woman – sustained minor injuries and was taken to Tweed Valley Hospital for mandatory testing.
Following inquiries, today, (Tuesday 16 September 2025), the 43-year-old woman was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death and not keep left of dividing line.
She was refused bail to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Wednesday 17 September 2025.
