Homicide Squad detectives have charged a woman for her alleged role in the murder of Zac McRae in August.
Just after 10.10pm on Wednesday 27 August 2025, emergency services were called to a bus interchange on North Parade in Mount Druitt, following reports of a concern for welfare.
On arrival, officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command located two men – both aged 19 – suffering from stab wounds.
One of the men sustained stab wounds to his chest and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene; however, he could not be revived.
He has since been identified as Zac McRae.
The other man sustained stab wounds to his arm and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition. He has since been released.
A crime scene was established by local police before the matter was referred to State Crime Command's Homicide Squad under Strike Force Coberta to investigate.
Following extensive inquiries, just before 7am yesterday (Tuesday 23 December 2025), strike force detectives executed two search warrants in Dapto and Vineyard.
At the Dapto address, police arrested a 19-year-old woman.
She was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where she was charged with murder, conceal serious indictable offence (> 20yrs max) of other, owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
The woman was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Local Court 3 today (Wednesday 24 December 2025), where police will allege she drove other alleged offenders to the scene.
