Woman charged over alleged fraud offences in Maroubra

A woman has been charged over numerous fraud offences allegedly committed in Sydney’s east this week., NSW Police say

On Monday yesterday, a 29-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted and had her back pack stolen, when she got off the bus on Anzac Parade, Maroubra.

The woman attended Maroubra Police Station and alerted police.

Later that morning, it was discovered the woman’s stolen credit cards were subsequently used in a number of fraudulent transactions, worth several thousand dollars.

About 6.30pm yesterday today, officers from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a home on Anzac Parade, Maroubra.

A number of items were seized, including a back pack, credit card and identity cards.

A 24-year-old woman arrived home and was arrested by police.

She was taken to Maroubra Police Station where she was charged with nine counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception and two counts of receiving property.

She was granted conditional bail to appear before Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 4 May 2016.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.
