Police have charged a woman after the death of a child in a pedestrian crash at Auburn last month, NSW Police say.
Just before 9.30am on Thursday 7 April 2016, a woman was walking with a one year old boy along Marion Street.
Police will allege that a Toyota sedan allegedly struck the 50-year-old woman and child.
The child was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital where he later died.
The woman was taken to Westmead Hospital suffering shock.
The driver of the vehicle, a 60-year-old woman was taken to Auburn Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit this afternoon today charged the woman with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death and cause bodily harm by misconduct.
She is expected to appear at Burwood Local Court on 25 July 2016.
The woman was subsequently issued with a notice of suspension and her licence was surrendered.
