Woman charged over fatal shooting, NSW

Police have charged a woman with being an accessory after the fact of murder after extraditing her from Queensland in relation to the shooting death of a man on the North Coast earlier this year, NSW Police say.

About 4.30pm (24 June 2017), police attended Tweed Heads District Hospital after receiving information a man suffering a gunshot wound had presented at the hospital.

The man died a short time later. He has been formally identified as 31-year-old, Ace Hall.

Strike Force Varndell – a joint strike force between State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, Tweed/Byron Local Area Command and Queensland Police – was established to investigate Mr Hall’s death.

On Monday 16 October 2017, Queensland Police arrested a 27-year-old woman without incident.

She appeared at Southport Magistrates Court and Strike Force detectives were granted extradition of the woman to NSW.

The woman was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder.

The woman was refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court tomorrow.
