Woman charged over fraud in Cootamundra

A woman has been charged over an alleged fraud which exceeded over $300,000 in the state’s south, NSW Police say.

In May 2016 Detectives from Cootamundra Local Area Command commenced Strike Force Aside to investigate missing funds from a local company.

Following inquiries, about 9am today, a 33-year-old woman was arrested at Cootamundra Police Station.

She was charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception (x30 counts), and destroy financial documents.

Police allege the woman transferred in excess of over $300,000 from the business account into her bank accounts from August 2014 through to April 2016.

The woman was given bail to appear at Cootamundra Local Court on 6 February 2017.

Investigations are ongoing and further offences may be identified.
