Woman charged with drug supply in Newcastle

A woman will face court today charged with drug supply offences in the Newcastle area, NSW Police say.

About 2am today, officers from Newcastle Local Area Command were patrolling Howard Street, Warners Bay, when they observed a male and female standing next to a vehicle.

After speaking with the duo, a search of the vehicle was conducted.

During the search, officers allegedly located a powder substance, believed to be ecstasy, a number of tablets and several clear resealable bags.

The items were seized and will undergo forensic examination.

A 30-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station where she was charged with possess prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug – greater than indictable quaintly.

She was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
